Nike × One Piece: the One Piece Card Game cards explained (P-099 Luffy and the three DON!!)

One Piece Card Game · Nike × One Piece
Nike has brought the One Piece Card Game (One Piece TCG) into its One Piece collection. Alongside the three devil fruit Air Max Plus come four promo cards: a P-099 "Monkey D. Luffy" with alternate art and three DON!! cards with the sneakers drawn on them. They're handed out with sneaker purchases at specific stores, at a Tokyo pop-up and through the digital Weekly Shonen Jump, and one of the stores on the calendar is in Madrid. Here's what Nike and Bandai actually say, what's our own deduction and the myths already going around.

Published · Last updated: . We update this post as Bandai and Nike confirm details.

The essentials in 30 seconds ⚡

  • Official name: ONE PIECE CARD GAME Premium Card Collection: NIKE Collaboration Edition. Nike added it to its press release on 2 September 2026.
  • Four designs: the P-099 Luffy with alternate art (same number and same effect as the existing P-099) and three DON!! cards: Gomu Gomu, Mera Mera and Ope Ope.
  • The full set is 34 cards: 10 DON!! of each fruit (30 in total) plus 4 Luffy. Not "10 DON!! and 4 Luffy".
  • Three routes: the Tokyo pop-up (4, 5 and 6 September, by lottery), subscribers to the digital Weekly Shonen Jump in Japan (18 September to 18 October, with a fee, now closed) and, outside Japan, one English DON!! per pair of sneakers bought in person.
  • Spain: Footdistrict, Madrid, 19 September 2026, on Nike's calendar. As of 4 September the store hadn't announced the sales format. Nobody confirmed tournament distribution.
  • Metamorph: we don't know yet whether we'll be able to get them. We're working on it with our Japanese distributors and will post any news in our WhatsApp restock group.

The four cards, one by one

Before we go card by card, a note on the images: all the official ones carry a SAMPLE watermark across the illustration. That's standard for Bandai reveals, which show cards this way before printing, and it doesn't mean they're fake or that the final design will change. The same happened with the 29th anniversary P-159 and with any promo Bandai shows early.

1. P-099 "Monkey D. Luffy", Nike alternate art

It's the only Character card in the batch and the one everyone is looking at. Luffy appears in Gear 5, drawn in black and white line art, like a manga page, over a background of swirls that is the Gomu Gomu fruit pattern. In the top left, over the art, sits the 「ナイキ」 logo (Nike in katakana) with the swoosh, and an English speech bubble that sums up the whole campaign: "IN OUR WORLD... DEVIL FRUITS ARE NIKES." In the bottom right, the Straw Hat Jolly Roger. And our favorite detail: photo cutouts of the sole and upper of the purple Air Max Plus, the Gomu Gomu pair, come in from the edges as if the manga paper had been torn and the real sneaker were peeking through. The credits are printed on the side: NOT FOR SALE, © Nike, Inc., BANDAI MADE IN JAPAN and the Eiichiro Oda / Shueisha copyright.

This is the first fact many people are getting wrong. Nike's Japanese page says it in a footnote: this card has the same effect as the already released P-099 "Monkey D. Luffy", and only the illustration changes. In other words, it isn't a new card: it's an alternate art of an existing promo, with the same number and the same text. The P-099 had in fact already been printed as a 2025 meetup (交流会) promo and in the 4th Anniversary! Four Emperors Treasure Get Campaign Pack, so the Nike one is one more version of the same number. For play it's exactly the same card: if you already run Luffy in a purple deck, you gain nothing competitively with this one. It's pure collecting and alternate art, which is exactly what makes it interesting, because the Nike drawing can only be obtained this way.

As for the NOT FOR SALE printed on the card: it's Bandai's way of marking a card as a promotional giveaway rather than a product sold in stores. Plenty of One Piece Card Game promo cards that come with events, magazines or campaigns carry it. It doesn't affect tournament legality (it's a P-099 with the same text), but it does affect how it circulates: you'll never see it in a distributor's catalog, only changing hands between people.

The three DON!! cards: what no press release tells you

A quick note on naming, because everyone calls them something different: on the cards and in Nike's campaign the fruits use their Japanese names (Gomu Gomu no Mi, Mera Mera no Mi, Ope Ope no Mi). In the English manga they're the Gum-Gum Fruit, the Flame-Flame Fruit and the Op-Op Fruit. Here we use the Japanese name, which is what you'll see printed, with the English one in brackets.

The three DON!! cards share the same design system, and we got this by zooming into Bandai's official image at 400%, not from a press release. Two elements repeat across all three cards, and in both the execution changes with the fruit:

  • The "Tn AIR" logo takes the shape of a devil fruit. The Air Max Plus Tn AIR logo sits in the top right corner of each DON!! and changes silhouette: a circle with swirls on the Gomu Gomu, a flame on the Mera Mera and a heart on the Ope Ope. Attached to each badge is a red circle with the swoosh, like the tongue label on the sneaker.
  • The Jolly Rogers have the swoosh built in. The bottom band of each DON!! shows the flag of the crew tied to that fruit, and on all three the Nike swoosh is worked into the skull, in a different spot each time.

2. DON!! "Gomu Gomu" (Gomu Gomu no Mi, the "Gum-Gum Fruit")

The Tn AIR badge here is a purple circle filled with the swirls typical of the Gomu Gomu no Mi, with the red swoosh circle next to it, and the Straw Hat Jolly Roger has the swoosh over the skull. It's the same idea as Luffy's speech bubble, in logo form. The game text is the standard text of any DON!!, so in a deck it works like a normal DON!!. This is also the only DON!! handed out at the Tokyo pop-up.

3. DON!! "Mera Mera" (Mera Mera no Mi, the "Flame-Flame Fruit")

Nike × One Piece Mera Mera DON!! card with the orange and yellow Air Max Plus in flames and Ace's Jolly Roger

Ace's card. The sneaker is literally on fire over a fire background, and the Tn AIR turns into an orange flame with the fruit's stem poking out at the top. On the bottom band, the Spade Pirates Jolly Roger (the skull with the crest of flames and the grin) has the swoosh as a mustache. Each DON!! carries the flag of the crew tied to its fruit, and that consistency is what makes the three work as a set instead of three loose cards.

4. DON!! "Ope Ope" (Ope Ope no Mi, the "Op-Op Fruit")

Nike × One Piece Ope Ope DON!! card with the red and pink Air Max Plus, heart-shaped Tn AIR badge and the Heart Pirates Jolly Roger

Law's card, and for us the finest of the three. The Tn AIR logo becomes a maroon heart, a double nod to the fruit and to the Heart Pirates, and on its Jolly Roger the swoosh directly replaces the skull's grin. If the deduction we explain further down is right, this would be the DON!! handed out in Madrid.

What exactly the 34-card set is

You'll know the Premium Card Collection name if you follow the One Piece Card Game Premium Card Collections: they're the collector boxes Bandai uses to package special promos. In this case, the Japanese digital Weekly Shonen Jump campaign talks about "four special promo cards / complete set (1 set of 34 cards)". And here's the mistake several outlets keep repeating: it isn't "34 cards: 10 DON!! and 4 Characters". The correct breakdown is this.

Card Copies in the set
DON!! "Gomu Gomu" 10
DON!! "Mera Mera" 10
DON!! "Ope Ope" 10
P-099 "Monkey D. Luffy" 4
Total 34 cards (30 DON!! + 4 Luffy)

The numbers aren't random, and this is what you miss if you get the count wrong. A One Piece Card Game deck is played with 10 DON!! cards, so each set has exactly one full DON!! deck per fruit: you can build a whole deck with the Gomu Gomu DON!!, another with the Mera Mera ones and another with the Ope Ope ones. And the 4 copies of Luffy are the maximum number of copies of a single card a deck allows. Bandai designed the set so a player can use all of it, not just frame it.

Myth "The set is 10 DON!! and 4 Luffy." No: it's 30 DON!! (10 of each of the three designs) plus 4 Luffy. If you see a 14-card count anywhere, it's a bad summary of the Japanese campaign.

The three ways to get them

First, the correct timeline, because that's being misreported too. Nike announced the collection in its newsroom on 23 August 2026. The cards weren't in that announcement: Nike added them on 2 September, with an editor's note that says so word for word. And on 3 September the digital Weekly Shonen Jump campaign went live in Japan, which is what made the news blow up in the game's community. So no, Nike didn't "announce the cards on 3 September": it updated its release on the 2nd, and the Jump route came out on the 3rd.

Route 1: the Tokyo pop-up "Dr. B'S RESEARCH LAB"

  • Where: THE HALL, Harajuku Quest B1F, 1-13-14 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo.
  • When: 4, 5 and 6 September 2026, 09:00 to 18:00.
  • Access: by prior lottery only. Entries ran from 23 August at 19:30 to 26 August at 23:59 (Japan time) and are now closed.
  • Footwear: one card per pair bought, and it's the Gomu Gomu DON!! (a single design).
  • Apparel and caps: one card per transaction, and it's the P-099 Luffy. Nike is clear on this: no matter how many garments or caps you buy, it's one card per purchase.

Mind the fine print: in Tokyo the three DON!! aren't all handed out, only the Gomu Gomu one. And the Luffy doesn't come with sneakers, it comes with apparel. Anyone leaving the pop-up with the P-099 and a DON!! made two separate purchases.

Route 2: digital Weekly Shonen Jump subscribers (Japan only)

This is the mass route and the one that explains the 34-card set. It's an 「応募者全員サービス」, a service for all applicants: anyone who meets the conditions and applies gets it. The conditions, according to Inside and collabo-cafe:

  • You must subscribe to the digital edition of Weekly Shonen Jump on Jump+ or Zebrack. You can start the subscription during the period and it still counts.
  • Application period: applications ran from 18 September 2026 at 13:00 to 18 October 2026 at 23:58, Japan time, and are now closed.
  • One application per person and one set at most.
  • It isn't entirely free: the applicant pays an additional fee (what collabo-cafe describes as "別途、応募者負担金が必要").
  • How to apply was published on 18 September at 13:00 on the Weekly Shonen Jump website, One Piece's social channels and the Jump+ app.

It's the same as with the Shonen Jump P-159: a promo tied to the Japanese magazine that you can't order normally from outside Japan. You need a subscription to the Japanese digital edition, and it's one set per person. That's why what reaches Europe through this route is single sets from private sellers, not boxes.

Route 3: the rest of the world, which is where we come in

This is the Nike sentence to read with a magnifying glass, because it's the only one that describes what happens outside Japan:

"For the remaining Nike and partner retail launch dates outside of Japan, a Nike x One Piece collaboration Premium Card Collection 'DON!! Card' (English language version) will be distributed with in-person footwear purchases and will feature a design matching the respective colorway."

Nike Newsroom, release updated on 2 September 2026

In practice, that means:

  • Outside Japan, the English DON!! was handed out. The P-099 Luffy isn't in that sentence.
  • Only with a footwear purchase and only in person ("in-person"). Apparel and caps don't count here.
  • The DON!! design matches the colorway that store sells. One store, one sneaker, one DON!!.
  • The global online launch on SNKRS on 25 September wasn't described as including a card.

Unconfirmed It was said that the English cards would also be handed out at official One Piece Card Game tournaments. It's worth being precise here, because this isn't a forum rumor: the source is specialist sneaker press (Soleretriever), which says it read it in the One Piece announcement and points to two September events. We checked the game's official calendar and both events exist: BCG Fest Utrecht, 4 to 6 September, and BCG Fest Dallas, 19 and 20 September, both listed on the official One Piece Card Game website. What we haven't found anywhere is Bandai saying the Nike cards are handed out there, and Soleretriever itself admits it isn't confirmed at which tournaments. Nike doesn't mention it either. So as of 4 September 2026: the tournaments exist, the card distribution at them isn't confirmed. If Bandai publishes it, you'll see this updated.

And in Spain: Madrid, Footdistrict, 19 September

This one was confirmed by Nike in its calendar: the collection reached Footdistrict in Madrid on 19 September 2026, the same day as Patta in Amsterdam, Offspring in London, Afew in Düsseldorf, One Block Down in Milan and SNS in Stockholm. It's the only Spanish store on the list, so in Spain it was the place to get one of these cards without going through Japan.

Our deduction Which DON!! was Madrid due to get? Nike doesn't say store by store. What it says is that the English DON!! matches the colorway of each store, and specialist sneaker press (Soleretriever) places the Ope Ope in the 19 September drop in the US and Europe, the Mera Mera in Asia and Mexico on 12 September and the Gomu Gomu on SNKRS. Note the nuance: Nike doesn't publish that store-by-store breakdown outside Japan; nike.com/jp only details the one inside Japan. If that mapping held, Footdistrict would have got the Ope Ope DON!!, the one with the heart-shaped Tn AIR. It isn't confirmed by Nike or by Footdistrict; we flag it as a deduction.

On the sales format (raffle, queue, reservation): as of 4 September, Footdistrict had no landing page or raffle published for this launch. A short-run drop would normally go by raffle, but that was for the store to announce, not us. What we do know from Nike is that the card is tied to an in-person footwear purchase: one DON!! per pair, and not with apparel or caps.

And on 25 September, the global SNKRS launch: it was the online route, the one most people in Spain would try. But Nike talked about "in-person footwear purchases" and the SNKRS drop wasn't described as including a card. As of 4 September, nothing backed up getting a DON!! in the box with an online order.

The sneakers and the rest of the collection

The cards are the focus of this post, but it helps to know what they come attached to. The collection is built around three Nike Air Max Plus SP with an upper that's completely redesigned and exclusive to the collection, one per devil fruit. The retail price in Japan is ¥27,500 including tax according to nike.com/jp; in the US a price of $180 has been reported. The euro price isn't confirmed: as of 4 September 2026 it doesn't appear on nike.com/es, so we don't give one.

Mera Mera no Mi Brilliant Orange / Healing Jade IW1283-800 Tokyo pop-up + Nike Umeda + Asia and Mexico (11 - 12 Sep)

A note on sources, because it matters here: the distribution inside Japan (pop-up, SNKRS and Nike Umeda) is published by nike.com/jp. That the Ope Ope goes to the US and Europe on 19 September and the Mera Mera to Asia and Mexico on 12 September isn't something Nike says: it comes from specialist sneaker press. That's why we give Madrid as a deduction and not as a fact.

Nick Remlinger, GM of Energy Gaming at Nike, described the starting point like this:

"We were inspired by the superhuman abilities that are unleashed when ONE PIECE characters eat the Devil Fruits, much like the feeling an athlete has when they put on a pair of Nikes. We then started reimagining the beloved Air Max Plus in a way that fans of the silhouette have never seen before." He adds that more surprises are coming as the collection comes to life.

Nick Remlinger, GM, Energy Gaming, Nike (Nike Newsroom)

The rest of the collection (football jerseys per fruit, a vest inspired by the devil fruit curse, Solo Swoosh QS tees, a pop-up exclusive tee and Fly Cap AW84 caps) features real manga panels and reworks panels in the style of classic Nike ads. These are the apparel and caps that come with the P-099 at the Tokyo pop-up. Outside that pop-up, the only known route to that card is the 34-card digital Weekly Shonen Jump set, which includes four copies.

Will we have them at Metamorph? The honest answer

Important notice

For now we don't know whether we'll be able to carry these cards

We'll say it plainly so nobody gets hopes up that we can't meet: right now we don't know whether we'll be able to have the Nike × One Piece cards at Metamorph. We're working with our Japanese distributors to try to bring them in, and if we manage it we'll announce it first in the restock group. But we're not promising anything, and anyone telling you today that they have them reserved "from the factory" is telling you something that doesn't match how they're distributed.

Why it's so hard:

  • They're NOT FOR SALE cards, given out as promos, not distribution products. A distributor can't "order" them from Bandai the way it orders a booster box.
  • The mass Japanese route (digital Shonen Jump) is one set per person and needs a Japanese subscription. What reaches the market comes from private sellers, not wholesalers.
  • The Western route is one DON!! per pair of sneakers bought in person, and the sneakers are a very short run and, most likely, sold by raffle.
  • Honest conclusion: if they arrive, they'll arrive as single units bought on the Japanese market, not as boxes. And there won't be many.

If you want to be the first to know whether we get them (and about any One Piece Card Game restock), join our WhatsApp restock group. It's where we post before anywhere else.

Frequently asked questions

Which One Piece Card Game cards come with the Nike × One Piece collection?

Four designs under the name ONE PIECE CARD GAME Premium Card Collection: NIKE Collaboration Edition: a P-099 "Monkey D. Luffy" Character card with Nike alternate art (line-art Gear 5 Luffy) and three DON!! cards with the Air Max Plus of each devil fruit: Gomu Gomu, Mera Mera and Ope Ope.

How many cards are in the full Weekly Shonen Jump set, and how are they split?

The full set from the digital Weekly Shonen Jump campaign is 34 cards: 10 Gomu Gomu DON!!, 10 Mera Mera DON!!, 10 Ope Ope DON!! and 4 P-099 Luffy. That's 30 DON!! plus 4 Luffy, not "10 DON!! and 4 Luffy" as some outlets summarize it.

Is Nike's P-099 Luffy a new card?

No. According to the footnote on nike.com/jp, it has the same effect as the already released P-099 "Monkey D. Luffy" and only the illustration changes. The P-099 had already been printed as a 2025 meetup (交流会) promo and in the 4th Anniversary! Four Emperors Treasure Get Campaign Pack, so the Nike one is one more alternate art of the same number. It adds nothing new competitively; it's for collectors.

How do you get the Nike × One Piece cards?

Three routes: the Tokyo pop-up (4, 5 and 6 September 2026, lottery access, now closed), the campaign for digital Weekly Shonen Jump subscribers in Japan (applications ran from 18 September to 18 October 2026, one set per person, with an applicant fee) and, outside Japan, one English DON!! for each pair of sneakers bought in person at the stores on Nike's calendar.

Which card was Footdistrict in Madrid due to get?

Nike's calendar had Footdistrict Madrid on 19 September 2026 and says the English DON!! matches the colorway each store sells. The European drop on that date points to the Ope Ope, so the logical answer would be the Ope Ope DON!!. It's a deduction, not confirmed by Nike or by Footdistrict. The sales format (raffle, queue or reservation) was for the store to announce.

Are these cards handed out at official One Piece Card Game tournaments?

It isn't officially confirmed. It comes from specialist sneaker press (Soleretriever), which says it read it in the One Piece announcement and points to BCG Fest Utrecht (4 to 6 September) and BCG Fest Dallas (19 and 20 September). Both events exist and are on the game's official website; we checked. What doesn't appear anywhere is Bandai confirming the Nike cards are handed out there, and Soleretriever itself admits it's unknown at which tournaments. Nike doesn't mention it. As of 4 September 2026, treat it as unconfirmed.

Did buying the Air Max Plus on SNKRS on 25 September include a card?

Nike talked about distribution with in-person footwear purchases at the stores on the calendar. The global SNKRS launch on 25 September wasn't described as including a card as of 4 September 2026.

Will Metamorph Center have the Nike × One Piece cards?

We don't know yet. They're NOT FOR SALE promo cards, not distribution products, so no wholesaler orders them from Bandai. We're talking to our Japanese distributors to try to bring them in, and if they arrive it will be as single units from the Japanese market. If you want to be the first to know, join our WhatsApp restock group.
