30th Celebration Classic Collection: all 30 reprinted classic cards, one by one

Classic Collection de 30th Celebration: las 30 cartas clásicas reeditadas, una a una
Pokémon TCG · 30th Anniversary · Classic Collection
Inside 30th Celebration, the 30th anniversary set, there's a special block: the Classic Collection, 30 iconic cards from across Pokémon TCG history reprinted with the Pikachu 30 stamp, a gold border and bright holo. In June only two were confirmed, plus a leaked list; since 16 September 2026 all 30 are printed, numbered (136 to 165 in Japanese) and in the packs. Here they are one by one, each next to its original, with the story of every era. The rest of the set is in our 30th Celebration guide.

Published on and rewritten on with all 30 cards confirmed and their final images.

The essentials in 30 seconds ⚡

  • 30 cards from 1996 (1999 in English) to 2023, in chronological order, all confirmed with official images. The years on the labels are those of the English edition.
  • Numbering: 136 to 165 in Japanese and Chinese; in English each card keeps its original number (Charizard 4/102).
  • Finish: 30 stamp in the corner, gold border and bright holo. Original artwork and text.
  • Legality: not playable in Standard. Pure collecting.
  • Where they come from: regular packs in every language; in English, also a special 3-classic pack in the Ultra-Premium Collections.
  • The heavy hitters: Lugia Crystal Type, Base Set Charizard, Shinji Kanda's Magikarp, Gengar Prime and Base Set Pikachu.

The 30 classics, one by one

In the order of the Japanese set, which follows each card's first printing chronologically. Each label shows the original set and year and, in small type, the card's original number (the one the English version keeps). Tap any card to see it full size.

Era by era: why these 30 hit you right in the nostalgia

The list isn't a random greatest hits: it mixes collector favorites with competitive cards that defined each period of the game. Here's the reasoning behind each block:

WOTC era · 1996 to 2003 (136 to 142)

The emotional core of the set. Base Set Pikachu and Charizard, both by Mitsuhiro Arita; Misty, the Gym Heroes Trainer card, and Erika's Jigglypuff from Gym Challenge, a Gym Leader's Pokémon, standing in for the gym era; Neo Genesis Sneasel; Shining Celebi from Neo Destiny, from the second wave of Shining cards after the two in Neo Revelation; and Lugia Crystal Type from Aquapolis, whose Crystal Type Poké-Body lets it change type depending on the Energy attached to it. For many, the way into the hobby.

EX era · 2003 to 2007 (143 to 146)

Delcatty (EX Ruby & Sapphire), Dark Tyranitar (EX Team Rocket Returns), Scizor ex (EX Unseen Forces) and Metagross δ from EX Delta Species, a Lightning and Metal Metagross thanks to the Delta Species mechanic. The jump to modern ex cards and a much more technical metagame.

Diamond & Pearl and Platinum era · 2008 to 2010 (147 to 152)

The LV.X and Prime years: Palkia LV.X (Great Encounters), Uxie (Legends Awakened), Crobat G (Platinum), the heavily collected Gengar Prime from Triumphant and Darkrai & Cresselia LEGEND, one illustration split across two cards (151 top, 152 bottom) that only works with both halves together. That's why the list has 30 cards and 29 illustrations.

Black & White and XY era · 2011 to 2016 (153 to 157)

N (Noble Victories), the most loved Supporter in the game's history; Rayquaza EX (Dragons Exalted); Genesect EX (Plasma Blast); M Gardevoir EX (Primal Clash), the only Mega Evolution on the list; and Greninja BREAK from BREAKpoint, the icon of a whole archetype.

Sun & Moon era · 2017 to 2019 (158 to 160)

GX at its peak: Solgaleo GX (Sun & Moon), Buzzwole GX (Crimson Invasion) and the star Tag Team, Pikachu & Zekrom GX from Team Up, one of the first two classics to be officially confirmed.

Sword & Shield and Scarlet & Violet era · 2020 to 2023 (161 to 165)

The most recent cards that already count as "classic": Zacian V (Sword & Shield), the Amazing Rare Raikou (Vivid Voltage), Fusion Strike Mew VMAX, Arceus VSTAR (Brilliant Stars) and Shinji Kanda's Magikarp Illustration Rare from Paldea Evolved, which closes the list and has been one of the most wanted classics in the set since day one.

The 30 stamp and the anniversary finish

What makes these new pieces rather than plain reprints is the treatment: each classic keeps its artwork and text, but it's reprinted with the Pikachu 30 stamp in the corner, a gold border and a full-card bright holo specific to 30th Celebration. The Pokémon Company did the same with the Celebrations Classic Collection in 2021, which became one of the most collected products of recent years precisely because it gathered impossible reprints in one place. That's why they aren't legal in Standard: their value is collecting and nostalgia, not play.

How to get them in each language

  • Japanese and Chinese: they come in the regular packs of the 20-pack box. The official Chinese table puts them in the middle production tier (9.17%), with the Rares, Double Rares and Art Rares, so you'd normally expect to see some in a box.
  • English: they can also turn up in any pack, though at a low rate, and they keep their original number with the 30 stamp. To guarantee them, the 6 November Ultra-Premium Collections include a special Classic Collection pack with three guaranteed cards.
  • Singles: the ones that move most on the Japanese market are Lugia, Charizard, Magikarp, Gengar Prime and Pikachu; the rest are a lot more affordable. You'll find them in the full Japanese set list and in the English one.

FAQ

What is the 30th Celebration Classic Collection?

A block of 30 historic Pokémon TCG cards, from 1996 (1999 in English) to 2023, reprinted inside the 30th Celebration set with the 30th anniversary stamp, a gold border and bright holo. In Japanese they're numbered 136 to 165; in English each card keeps its original number. It's the set's retro tribute, as in Celebrations in 2021.

Is the list of 30 official yet?

Yes. Since 9 September 2026 the Japanese set list has been published card by card, and the 30 match what the Japanese site had shown in June: from Base Set Pikachu and Charizard to the Paldea Evolved Magikarp Illustration Rare.

Are they tournament legal?

Not in the current Standard format. The official Japanese site says so: the reprints can't be used under the current regulation, only in formats where the original card was already legal. They're collector items.

How do you get them?

In Japanese and Chinese they come in regular packs: the official Chinese table places them in the middle production tier (the 9.17%, alongside Rares, Double Rares and Art Rares). In English they can also turn up in any pack, at a low rate, and the 6 November Ultra-Premium Collections include a special pack with three guaranteed classics.

How are they different from the original cards?

They keep the artwork and the text, but they're reprinted in 2026 with the Pikachu 30 stamp in the corner, a gold border and a bright holo the original didn't have (or had in a different form). They're new reprints, not the vintage cards.

Which ones are most wanted?

Lugia Crystal Type from Aquapolis (142 in Japanese), Base Set Charizard (137), Shinji Kanda's Magikarp (165), Gengar Prime (150) and Base Set Pikachu (136). Behind them, Shining Celebi, the two-card Darkrai & Cresselia LEGEND and N.
