🤝 Battle Partners (SV9) is the Japanese set that brought Trainer's Pokémon back. N, Lillie, Iono and Hop show up with their partners, and each of them gets a Pokémon ex in SAR. It came out on 24 January 2025, and the box holds 30 packs of 5 cards.

What's in the Japanese Battle Partners Booster Box?

Official product from The Pokémon Company, factory sealed:

  • 30 packs per box
  • 5 cards per pack (150 cards in total)
  • Main set of 100 cards + 32 secret rares (132 in total): 12 AR, 11 SR, 6 SAR and 3 UR
  • Chase cards:
    • Lillie's Clefairy ex SAR 126/100 and Iono's Bellibolt ex SAR 125/100
    • N's Zoroark ex as SAR 127/100 and as gold UR 131/100
    • Hop's Zacian ex SAR 128/100, Salamence ex SAR 129/100 and Volcanion ex SAR 124/100
    • ARs of N's Reshiram 109/100 and Articuno 102/100

About Battle Partners (SV9)

A Trainer's Pokémon carries its Trainer's name and can only evolve from a card with that same name. N's Darmanitan evolves from N's Darumaka, not from a regular Darumaka, so decks end up built around one character.

Part of the print run of N's Zoroark ex UR shipped with a surface finish error, which The Pokémon Company confirmed in an official notice on 31 January 2025. There's no way to tell from the outside whether a sealed box comes from that run.

These cards reached English on 28 March 2025 as Journey Together, with 190 cards numbered xxx/159.

Why the Japanese version?

  • 5-card packs, 30 per box, while the English box has 36 packs of 10 cards
  • The SARs carry the original Japanese xxx/100 numbering; in Journey Together, Lillie's Clefairy ex is 184/159
  • The cards were out in Japan on 24 January 2025, nine weeks before Europe
