👹 Masaya Fukunishi voices both Kafka Hibino and his kaiju form, so in Union Arena Kaiju No.8 (UA28BT) he signs two cards: the SR★★ of each. That makes six SR★★ signed by five of the anime's actors, with Kaiju No.8 at SR★★★ above them. The box came out in Japan on 25 October 2024, a year ahead of the English edition.
What's in the Union Arena Kaiju No.8 Japanese booster box?
Official Bandai product, factory sealed:
- 16 booster packs per box
- 8 cards per pack (128 cards in total)
- 91 card types: 80 playable cards (10 SR, 12 R, 28 U and 30 C) plus 11 Action Point cards, with alt-arts on top
- Chase cards:
- Kaiju No.8 (055) at SR★★★, the only three-star card
- 6 SR★★ with foil autographs: Kaiju No.8 (055) and Kafka Hibino (063), both by Masaya Fukunishi; Mina Ashiro (005, Asami Seto), Reno Ichikawa (012, Wataru Kato), Kikoru Shinomiya (020, Ai Fairouz) and Soshiro Hoshina (071, Kengo Kawanishi)
- 2 serial-numbered Action Point cards (AP01★ and AP03★), planned by Bandai to carry hand-signed autographs, at a very low pull rate and in limited numbers
- 8 SR★ plus R★ and U★ alt-arts
About Kaiju No.8 (UA28BT)
The set revolves around Kafka Hibino and his Kaiju No.8 form, surrounded by the Defense Force's Third Division: Mina Ashiro, Reno Ichikawa, Kikoru Shinomiya and Soshiro Hoshina. Those six get new illustrations drawn for this product, and Bandai adds plenty of cards with original art from different illustrators.
Cards are numbered UA28BT/KJ8-1. Kaiju No.8 (055) is the only card in the set with both a signed SR★★ and an SR★★★ version.
Why the Japanese edition?
- It came out a year before the English one: 25 October 2024 vs 31 October 2025 (UE12BT)
- Same number of card types per rarity as the English edition; what changes is the pack, 8 cards here and 12 there
